Reciting the same sura in every rak‘a

Question

If the same sura is recited in every rak‘a, is it permissible or impermissible? And what is the ruling if one does so out of necessity?

Answer

If someone knows only one sura by heart, he will recite that very sura, and there is no dislike (karaha) in this. But if he knows other suras as well, then in a fard prayer deliberately reciting the same sura in every rak‘a is makruh. Doing so by forgetfulness is not makruh. In nafl prayers it is not makruh at all.
