The basis of audible and silent recitation in the audible and silent prayers

Question

A man asks: why is the recitation read quietly at the times of zuhr and ‘asr, and aloud at the other times? What is the reason for this?

Answer

This is how it is established from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and such is the will of Allah the Pure; acting contrary to it would be going against the Prophet ﷺ. [ar]ويجهر الإمام بالقراءة في الفجر وأولى المغرب والعشاء والجمعة والعيدين للتوارث من ازمن رسول الله ﷺ إلى هذا الآن، والجهر واجب.
