He continued the ruku‘ and sajda while supposing he had hadath
Question
While leading people in prayer, [the imam] thought that his wudu had broken, and simply continued performing the ruku‘ and sajda, considering himself to have left the prayer. Then he became certain that the wudu had not broken. Is the prayer valid or not?
Answer
If, on the supposition that his wudu had broken, he made the intention of leaving the prayer and continued [performing] the qiyam, ruku‘ and sajda without the intention of prayer, then the prayer is not valid.
