Joining the imam after sajda al-sahw

Question

If the imam performed sajda al-sahw and after that a person came and joined the congregation, then after the imam’s salam, should this person complete the prayer with that same niyya and tahrima, or should he make a fresh, independent niyya and say the takbir al-tahrima again?

Answer

He should complete the prayer with that same niyya and tahrima (Tahtawi, p. 256).
