A masbuq gave salam with the imam for sajda al-sahw
Question
A man is a masbuq, and sajda al-sahw became due upon the imam. The imam gave the salam for sajda al-sahw, and the masbuq either did not remember that he was a masbuq or, not knowing the mas’ala, gave salam together with the imam. In all these cases, is the masbuq’s prayer valid or not? If he gave salam out of forgetfulness, in which case is it permissible and in which not?
Answer
If the masbuq followed the imam in the salam out of forgetfulness, this has not harmed his prayer. If he followed him knowingly, that is, deliberately, his prayer has become fasid. (Caution.) Giving salam out of ignorance of the mas’ala while remembering that one is a masbuq does not count as forgetfulness.
