Imamate of an Imam Who Stopped the Reading of “Tablighi Nisab”

Question

In the mosque, after the fajr prayer, there used to be a teaching session (ta‘lim) from the book “Tablighi Nisab” (“The Tabligh Curriculum”), and this imam stopped it. Can such an imam lead the prayer?

Answer

Why did he stop it? Was there anything in it contrary to the Shari‘a? The imam, too, bears a great responsibility for spreading the religion. An imam who neither spreads the true religion himself nor lets others spread it — how is he fit to be made imam?
