The turban for the imam

Question

Is it necessary to wrap a turban around the head while leading the prayer? And if someone does not wrap a turban when leading the prayer, will his leading of the prayer be correct or not? And is wrapping a turban a sunna, or what is it?

Answer

Leading the prayer wearing a turban is mustahabb, but without a turban too it is correct without any karaha. However, in a place where the turban is so customary that people do not go to any respectable gathering without it, and do not even leave their homes without it, in such a place leading the prayer and praying without a turban is makruh.
