Can women establish a congregation among themselves?

Answer

A congregation consisting only of women is makrūh taḥrīmī, whether for obligatory or voluntary prayers (including tarāwīḥ). Women attending congregation with men is also considered makrūh, even for elderly women, according to the relied-upon opinion. This applies to daily prayers, Jumu‘ah, and ‘Eid prayers. Jumu‘ah and ‘Eid are not prescribed for women.
