The difference between the hands, feet and knees in sajda

Question

Respected Hazrat Mufti, may his glory increase! Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. Your fatwa no. 62, whose question was submitted by my dear second brother Nasir Ahmad, a student of this madrasa, is entirely correct as a fatwa. However, the doubt that is in my heart was not put forward in the question by the said dear [brother]. Here I am unable [to look into it myself] for lack of books, so I submit it again.

Answer

The doubt mentioned was not stated in [the fatwa on] p. 62; there was only a question about placing the feet and lifting the feet in sajda. The source of the doubt mentioned appears to be that you regard the obligation of placing the feet in sajda as established by the hadith “أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ” (“I have been commanded to prostrate…”)
