The place of sajda being higher than the place of the feet
Question
A person prays, and in the state of sajda his hands, nose and forehead are on a raised place while his knees are lower down. What is objectionable in this, and what ruling applies to what height?
Answer
If the forehead and nose are higher than the feet by less than half a dhira‘ (cubit), the sajda will be performed; if higher than that, the sajda will not be performed, and when the sajda does not take place the prayer will not [be valid] either.
