An imam of one mosque calling the adhan on the microphone of another mosque
Question
I read in some book that it is makruh for the imam of one mosque to call the adhan in another mosque. Is that so? The reason for asking is that 'Umar is the permanent imam of one mosque; since the other mosque has a microphone and 'Umar also has a good voice, he, besides his own mosque, calls the adhan on the microphone in the other mosque and then goes to his own mosque and leads the prayer. Is this permissible without karaha (dislike)?
Answer
The mosque in which he calls the adhan acquires a right that he should also pray there; moreover, it is stated in the hadith that the one who calls the adhan should himself say the iqama: [ar]مَنْ أَذَّنَ فَهُوَ يُقِيمُ[/ar] “Whoever calls the adhan, he is the one who says the iqama.
