Is the Earth on the Horn of a Bull?

Question

In a book called Hazar Mas’ala (‘A Thousand Questions’) a hadith is related stating that he ﷺ said: the earth rests on the horn of a bull. Once Satan tempted the bull, and the bull intended to throw the earth down; so Allah the Exalted commanded a mosquito to enter the bull’s nose. It entered and bit so hard that the bull trembled. The bull then promised not to do so again.

Answer

This report is not transmitted with a sound chain; the hadith scholars have recorded it as mawdu‘ (fabricated), as is stated in ‘al-Mawdu‘at al-Kabir’. As for discussing whether the moon and sun are suspended or not, this question falls outside the subject matter of fiqh and ‘aqida.
