Qur’anic Diacritics and the Compilation of Hadith and Fiqh Books
Question
In the era of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the Word of Allah was not written on paper in this manner, from beginning to end; nor had fatha, kasra, jazm and tashdid yet been invented in that era; nor were the books of hadith compiled in this form; nor was there yet a custom of compiling books of fiqh, usul al-fiqh and tafsir. This passage is from 'Sawanih-i Qasimi' ('The Life of Qasim'), vol. 2, p. 25 [is this correct]?
Answer
I do not have 'Sawanih-i Qasimi' with me, but the fact [described] is correct. What exactly do you wish to ask about this?
