Can One Who Memorized the Qur’an Imperfectly Still Intercede?

Question

A man began to memorize the Qur’an and completed the memorization. However, when reciting to his teacher the section (juz’) he was due to recite, he made dozens of mistakes, and sometimes, because of the mistakes, he was sent away with the words: “Go and learn it, you have not memorized it yet.” In this way he finished memorizing the whole of the Holy Qur’an, but he never once completed a full recitation of the Holy Qur’an (in tarawih) during Ramadan — he would only recite two to four juz’, and no turban, etc.

Answer

Since he continues to recite [the Qur’an] daily by looking at the text, and if, despite his effort, he has not been able to memorize it because of his weak memory, then he will not be raised blind. He will receive the full reward for his effort, and it is hoped that he too will be able to intercede [for others].
