The Memorizer of the Qur’an Has Precedence over One Who Is Not

Question

Zayd says that the rank of a hafiz of the Qur’an is higher than that of a hajji praying behind the imam (muqtadi). Is this correct?

Answer

The hafiz has precedence over one who is not a hafiz; the imam has precedence over those praying behind him (muqtadis).
