Placing the Qur’an on the First Step of the Minbar

Question

Is it permissible to place the Noble Qur’an on the first step of the minbar (pulpit) and recite from it there, or not?

Answer

Reading with it placed upon a Qur’an-case, a covering, a cushion, or the like is what proper reverence (adab) requires. Do not place it, without a covering or cushion, in a spot where feet are placed.
