The Condition of Prophet Ayyub’s ﵇ Illness

(1) The Urdu “Qisas al-Anbiya” records the story that worms appeared in the sacred body of Prophet Ayyub ﵇. Yet Tafsir al-Baydawi, al-Jalalayn, al-Madarik, al-Kashshaf, and other authoritative tafsirs make no mention of any such occurrence. Answer

The Urdu “Qisas al-Anbiya” has long been printed and is available in India, and it is quite an engaging book for the common people. In some places gatherings are held where this book is read and listened to, but in terms of authenticity (isnad) and evidentiary standing it is not of a level on which one may fully rely.
