The Apodosis of an Imperative Also Takes the Jussive Mood
Question
In Surah al-Mulk, why does the letter “ب” in the word “يَنقَلِبْ” carry a jazm (sukun), even though there is no governing jussive particle (‘amil jazim)?
Answer
This is the apodosis of an imperative (jawab al-amr), which, like the imperative itself, takes the jussive mood (jazm).
