The Noble Messenger ﷺ Was Also Given Light (Nur)

Question

What is the occasion of revelation (sha’n al-nuzul) of the verse: [ar]قَدْ جَآءَكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ نُورٌ وَكِتَـٰبٌ مُّبِينٌ[/ar] “There has certainly come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book” (Surah al-Ma’ida, 5:15)?

Answer

The Jews used to conceal some of the matters of their Scripture while disclosing others. Allah Most High informed the Noble Messenger ﷺ of this, and through the light of prophethood it became fully manifest to him. This is precisely what the verse states: from Allah the Noble Messenger ﷺ was given the Book (the Noble Qur’an)
