The Meaning of “Humiliation and Poverty Were Stamped Upon Them” in Light of Modern Israel

Question

[ar]ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ وَٱلْمَسْكَنَةُ[/ar] “Humiliation and poverty were stamped upon them...” (Surah al-Baqara, 2:61, verse quoted in part) — this is a decree of Allah in the Holy Qur’an. It is said of the Jews that they will remain humiliated and abased forever, and that power will never be granted to them either. This is my belief and my conviction.

Answer

Where in the verse “Humiliation and poverty were stamped upon them...” is [their] statehood negated, such that present circumstances could be set against it [as a refutation]? Unless some verse or strong (reliable) report establishes that Jewish rule is negated forever, the Qur’an and hadith cannot be rejected [on this basis].
