A Doubt Concerning Prohibition by Affinity

Question

Zayd committed zina with Hinda, and Hinda was the wife of ‘Umar. Then Zayd died. After his death, Hinda’s son, who was from ‘Umar’s seed, married the wife of the aforementioned Zayd. Is this nikah valid according to the Shari‘a? Explain and be rewarded.

Answer

Through this zina no relationship entailing prohibition arose between ‘Umar’s son and Zayd’s wife; therefore this nikah is valid.
