The Nikah of a Woman New to Islam after the ‘Idda

Question

There was a non-Muslim girl who was married. A Muslim formed a relationship with her, and after a few days the girl accepted Islam. For a year this girl has been living with this Muslim; they have not yet concluded a nikah. The girl wants the nikah to take place. Will the nikah between the two be valid, and is there an ‘idda for this girl or not?

Answer

Since a full year has passed since she accepted Islam, her marriage to this man is now valid.
