Marrying a Girl Who Leaves the Shi‘i Madhhab and Becomes Sunni
Question
I love a Shi‘i girl. This girl’s age is 30 or 32 years, and my age is 28 years. Her mother passed away in Bombay. Her paternal grandmother raised her; her grandmother has been insane for eight years, and her father is deaf and mute. The girl is her parents’ only child; she is also ill, and she is very poor, and my family is against this match. Now I want to marry this girl, and the girl too is ready to marry me; I have no means at all for a wedding.
Answer
If you are able to fulfil her rights, then marry her. The rights include food, clothing, and also a house to live in.
