The nikah of a ten-year-old girl with a thirty-year-old man

Question

If the respected qadi (the qadi being the person who performs the nikah) conducts the nikah of a ten-year-old girl with a thirty-year-old man, is this nikah valid? And will this act of the respected qadi be correct or not?

Answer

If he conducted it with the permission of the guardian (wali), it is valid. The guardian himself should consider whether this is appropriate or not. If the girl is mature, then her own opinion also counts, provided the nikah is with an equal match (kuf’) and not by stepping down below that.
