Jumu'a in a mosque where the five daily prayers are not held

Question

In the village of Deokali all the conditions of Jumu'a are present: the population is more than three thousand, and the Muslim houses number about fifteen hundred. There is one mosque here, [in which] Jumu'a is held, but the prayer is not performed five times [a day] in the mosque — neither with congregation nor without congregation: if some person comes in, he prays [on his own]. The local people do not pray; only Jumu'a, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha take place. Will Jumu'a be valid in these circumstances?

Answer

If the conditions of Jumu'a are present in Deokali — that is, there are streets, lanes and quarters, there is a post office, there is a market, every necessary thing is always available, [and] the census [shows] three thousand — then both Jumu'a and Eid are valid there.
