Screening while lowering a woman into the grave

Question

If the janaza is that of a woman, will a screen be necessary while lowering her into the grave?

Answer

Yes: [ar]كما يشعر به التعليل بأن مبنى حالهن على الاستتار[/ar] “as indicated by the reasoning that the state of women is founded on concealment” (“Majma‘ al-Anhur”, p. 186). [ar]وهو حاصل بالتابوت[/ar] “And this is achieved by a coffin.”
