Screening at the burial of a woman

Question

What is the ruling of the Sacred Law on putting up a screen over a woman’s grave at any time, by night or by day, and why is it done?

Answer

Non-mahram men also accompany the janaza; therefore a screen is put up so that, while she is being placed in the grave, non-mahrams do not see the shape of the body.
