Tying a loincloth (passed between the legs) when lowering the deceased into the grave
Question
When lowering the deceased into the grave, people consider it necessary to tie a loincloth (a lower cloth with its end passed between the legs), and for a female deceased they are even more particular about it. Lowering the deceased into the grave while wearing a waist-wrap they consider immodest and impermissible. Kindly write a summary in accordance with the noble Sacred Law.
Answer
Covering the part [of the body] from the navel to the knees is necessary, and uncovering it before anyone is forbidden. It is entirely correct to place the deceased in the grave while wearing any cloth that covers this much (from the navel to the knees).
