Placing the deceased in a coffin

Question

Because water seeps into the grave or the soil is poor, the planks will not stay in place in any way. In such a situation, may the inner wall [of the grave] be built of baked brick or not? Or may one strengthen this wall by applying cement to it or not? And if one may not do so, what arrangement should be made?

Answer

A wooden box should be made; the deceased should be placed in it and [the box] put in the grave.
