Sprinkling Zamzam water on the deceased
Question
Is it permissible to sprinkle Zamzam water on the shroud or on the body of the deceased, or not?
Answer
The shroud is given of clean cloth, and after washing the deceased is pure; therefore sprinkling Zamzam water on the deceased (after the washing) and on the shroud for tabarruk is permissible: [ar]ويجوز الاغتسال والتوضؤ بماء زمزم على وجه التبرك، ولا يستعمل إلا على شيء طاهر، فلا ينبغي أن يغتسل به جنب أو محدث، ولا في مكان نجس. «لباب» وشرحه. وفي مياه «الدر»
