A piece of the Ka‘ba’s covering on the deceased
Question
If, in the grave, a piece of the covering of the Noble Ka‘ba is placed on the chest of the deceased for tabarruk, is this permissible or not?
Answer
Placing it for tabarruk is permissible, provided that the name of Allah or a verse is not written on it; otherwise it is not permissible, since the body of the deceased usually bursts and pus and the like, which are impure, come out of it — and protection from this is necessary.
