Is General Belief in the Messenger ﷺ Enough, or Must It Include His Attributes
Question
Is belief in the Messenger ﷺ among the necessities of the religion or not? And is it sufficient to believe merely that he ﷺ is the Messenger of Allah, or does belief in the attributes of which he ﷺ is worthy also belong to the necessities?
Answer
Belief in the Messenger ﷺ belongs to the necessities of the religion to such a degree that without it a person does not deserve to be called a believer. Along with it comes also the acceptance of his categorically established distinctions — for instance, that he ﷺ is the Seal of the Prophets.
