What Degree of Iman Brings Salvation

Question

What degree of iman in worldly life is fard ‘ayn or wajib? What degree of iman will Allah the Exalted in general demand in the Hereafter? What are the Sacred limits of this? And if it is certain that my iman does not reach the degree of steadfastness in the obligatory duties, and I am not a man of means either — what should I do?

Answer

If He should take to forgiving, He will forgive even for an atom’s weight of iman — indeed, He will forgive even for an iman whose effect is outwardly visible upon no one. And if He should take to calling to account, He will call to account even those of the firmest iman. Therefore one must strive that one’s iman become as strong as possible.
