Satanic Whisperings Do Not Destroy Iman

Question

A certain man is observant of the Sacred Law. One day, while studying a book, a satanic whispering came into his heart: that he was not a Muslim and that he had become an apostate. Yet no denial issued from him, nor any sin indicating kufr. He became extremely troubled and, out of fear, greatly distressed: with what face shall I stand before Allah the Exalted and His Messenger ﷺ on the Day of Resurrection?

Answer

By this satanic whispering his iman has not been lost — praise be to Allah, the iman is intact. Let him recite the kalimah tayyibah and “la hawla wa la quwwata illa bi’llah” frequently, and let him give thanks to Allah the Exalted every day for being a believer.
