Offering Something for Reciting the Adhan in a Child’s Ear

Question

After a child is born, in order to have the adhan recited in the child’s ear, some imam or mulla is called from the mosque, and after he recites the adhan, the child’s family, of their own free will, give him some food to eat and some money. How is this?

Answer

Making this a fixed practice or demanding it is wrong. There is no harm in giving something to eat and drink out of respect for the one who comes to the house.
