Rent for a field in the form of grain

Question

Question: Bakr gave Umar his field and said to him: “Give me six maunds (a unit of weight, ≈ 37 kg) of wheat every year or every six months, and sow whatever grain you wish in my field.” What is the Shar‘i ruling on this?

Answer

Just as it is proper to fix the wage in cash, it is likewise proper to fix it in grain.
