Istilam of the Black Stone: Its Origin and Kissing

Question

What are the special properties of the Black Stone, the stone set in the Noble Kaaba? And was the stone there when Ibrahim ﵇ laid the foundation of the Kaaba, or not? If it was, where did it come from? And what is the ruling on kissing it and pressing one’s lips to it?

Answer

This stone came from Paradise. When Ibrahim ﵇ built the Kaaba (Ka‘bat Allah), he set this stone in this place. Kissing it earns reward (thawab).
