Iltizam of the Wall beneath the Mizab al-Rahma
Question
Is it also permissible to perform iltizam (pressing one’s chest and face against it) of the wall of the Noble House of Allah in the Hatim that lies beneath the Mizab al-Rahma (the water-spout of the Kaaba), or not? Many people regard it as legislated (mashru‘), citing “Qurrat al-‘Ayn”, p. 236.
Answer
That supplication (du‘a) beneath the Mizab al-Rahma in the Hatim is accepted is a strong position and is transmitted in the books of fiqh; but iltizam of this spot in this manner is not transmitted, and leaving it is more cautious (ahwat).
