Proof of the Istilam of the Black Stone

Question

A certain gentleman says that kissing the Black Stone on the occasion of Hajj is neither a sunna, nor wajib, nor fard; it is not mentioned in the Noble Qur’an, it has not come in any hadith, and there is no statement of any Companion about it — rather, it is an invention of people. Is this statement correct?

Answer

Kissing the Black Stone is established from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the noble Companions ﵃; this gentleman’s denial is based on unfamiliarity with hadith and fiqh and on ignorance. In all the books of fiqh, wherever Hajj is mentioned, the kissing of the Black Stone is mentioned.
