Assisting an impermissible act is also impermissible
Question
What is the ruling on becoming president or secretary of a workers’ association in which all kinds of tasks have to be done, both in keeping with the Shari‘a and contrary to it? Is it permissible for a Muslim president to go to the deceased of a non-Muslim, or to go to gather his bones and cast them into the river, or not? This while there is no intention of shirk, nor of seeking help (isti‘ana).
Answer
Doing things that are contrary to the Shari‘a and impermissible is impermissible for everyone. For a president or secretary to do an impermissible thing, or to have it done through his own arrangements, is even more blameworthy; especially matters that are emblems of disbelief (sha‘a’ir al-kufr)
