Contributing to a Hindu rite
Question
We live in a place where the “kara” (?) of the population is Hindu, and we have to live together with them, mixing with them. If we keep apart from these people, it will become difficult for us to obtain any food and drink or to carry on any kind of business, and the children’s education will also become difficult. If we live together with them, these people collect some contributions from us for some of their pujas (Hindu worship rites), for example of Kali, Durga, Lakshmi (Hindu goddesses) and the like.
Answer
In such a situation, the contribution should be given to those people who come to ask for it; then they may spend it wherever they please.
