Attending a religious gathering of another community

Question

People of another community sometimes invite us to take part in their religious gathering. Is taking part in such a gathering correct from the standpoint of the Shari‘a or not?

Answer

It is not correct to lend splendour to their gathering by one’s participation. [ar]من كثر سواد قوم فهو منهم[/ar] “Whoever swells the numbers of a people is one of them.”
