Seeing wounds on the pure body of the Prophet ﷺ in a dream
Question
Question: A man says in his talk that a certain pious elder saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a dream: there were wounds on his body, and he was coming to India and to Rajasthan, carrying his bedding. When asked, he said: “It is concern for the Umma; in India and in Rajasthan the most corruption is taking place; the wounds are the sorrows of the Umma.” Do these things have any connection with the Qur’an and hadith?
Answer
What difficulty (ishkal) is there in seeing something of this kind in a dream? It is not at all far-fetched that grief for the Umma and distress over evil deeds should appear in the form of wounds on the body. This is a symbolic image, not an actual one. The presentation of the Umma’s deeds is found in a narration.
