The ruling on one who practises sorcery

Question

Question: For a year and a half someone has had sorcery worked on us, which affects in particular male potency, and because of this we are very distressed. We wish to obtain a fatwa in order to know whether a blow should be dealt to the practitioner of incantations or to the one who commissioned it — given that Shariʿa proof exists.

Answer

Both are culpable and deserve punishment: sorcery falls upon the sorcerer’s own head.
