A method of repelling sorcery

Question

Question: Zayd married Hinda, but Hinda’s family worked sorcery on Zayd, as a result of which he became completely averse to his own parents. Many practices (ʿamal) were carried out, but there was no recovery. Now we have been told that it will go away only through a satanic practice. So if such a practice (sorcery) is performed, is there any allowance for it or not?

Answer

The claim that treatment is possible only through a satanic practice is not correct. Sorcery is also repelled through permissible practices. The Muʿawwidhatayn (the two suras of seeking refuge) were revealed to repel the sorcery (worked) on the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
