Replying to the salam of a Qadiani, and his invitation to a meal
Question
If a Qadiani greets with salam, should he be answered or not? May one greet them with salam on one’s own initiative or not? Also, if he invites one to a meal, may one attend or not? And may one invite them to any meal of one’s own or not?
Answer
The Qadiani has written his creed in his books in opposition to the definitive texts (nusus qat‘iyya); therefore he is outside Islam and an apostate (murtadd). A Muslim who adopts the Qadiani religion falls under the same ruling. Greeting him with salam, answering his salam, accepting his invitation to a meal and inviting him are not permissible.
