Greeting one who is eating with salam

Question

Is it permissible or not to greet with salam one who is reciting the Noble Qur’an, or for him to reply to a salam, or to greet with salam one who is eating, or for him to reply to a salam?

Answer

Greeting with salam one who is reciting the Noble Qur’an or eating is makruh, and replying to such a salam is also not wajib.
