Is the knee part of the ʿawra?

Question

If a man uncovers his knee, how is that? And is his act haram, makruh tahrimi or makruh tanzihi?

Answer

According to the Hanafis, the knee is among those parts of the body whose covering is wajib, and uncovering it in such a way that the covering does not remain is makruh tahrimi.
