Sterilization under compulsion of employment
Question
What is the ruling in the case of dismissal or suspension from the department, when there is no means of livelihood?
Answer
The rulings on compulsion and dire necessity (idtirar) are distinct: to whatever degree the compulsion is, to that degree there is ease in the rulings for it as well, so much so that, to save one’s life, even eating carrion is permitted. Yet the compulsion of every person is not the same; making a living does not depend on employment — other doors of provision (rizq)
