The ruling on a hermaphrodite (khuntha) goat
Question
Question: An animal of the goat species is neither male nor female — what is the ruling on selling it? What is the ruling on consuming its milk and eating its meat? In our language such an animal is called “kan” (کاں).
Answer
If a goat’s young is neither male nor female but a khuntha mushkil (a hermaphrodite whose sex cannot be determined), its sale is valid, and eating it is also permissible. You asked about its milk — then please also write with which organ it gives milk, and whether a male can mate with it or not?
